Rhode Island Chiropractic offices: Car Accident, Auto Injury, Back Pain relief

Dr. Stepen M. Estner - Chiropractor

When isn’t it a good time to visit a RI chiropractor? Although one of the most common times to visit a chiropractor is after a car accident or injury at work, chiropractic medicine offers more than just pain relief and treatment for traumatic sports and personal injuries, chronic back and neck pain, and other spinal injuries.

Because chiropractic uses an holistic approach to medicine and is a whole body healing practice, you may visit your chiropractor at any time for adjustments and spinal alignments to keep your entire body healthy, strong, and injury free.

Chiropractors have been known to treat such ailments as allergies, administer to sports injuries, workplace injuries, prenatal back pain, pediatric spinal injuries and maintenance, headaches, joint discomfort, circulation issues, and others, to name but a few. Regular visits to your chiropractor will keep you free of many of the most common illnesses and allergies related to seasonal situations.

In addition to maintenance and care of the whole body and spine during periods of peak health, your chiropractor can offer you pain relief from back and neck discomfort during pregnancy or after an injury, and they are particularly well known for alleviating all kinds of pain in the body including but not limited to headaches, spinal pain, and joint pain and discomfort. Because chiropractors do not prescribe drugs for the treatment of pain, they are the perfect solution for children as well.

Our Cranston Chirpractic office is happy to welcome new patients…

“Thank you for treating me so well, and the staff was very friendly. Thanks again.” Jessenia D.

What You Can Expect

Massage therapy has come a long way since the days of massage parlors. This therapeutic approach to holistic healing offers deep rewards for both body and mind, in addition to as yet untapped potential as a full body healing modality.

Still, many patients can become apprehensive before their first relaxation massage appointment and would like to have information regarding the procedures and process that occurs when you visit a massage therapist for a full body relaxation massage.

These massage procedures may be prescribed by your family physician in response to any stress you may be going through in your life, including but not limited to bodily aches and pains, muscle aches and pains, general stress and unrest, and even insomnia and anxiety.

Your first visit to your massage therapist will include a brief discussion about your symptoms and pains, as well as a course of treatment plan that may or may not involve other therapies or healing modalities for you to take part in.

A full body massage will cover your entire body starting with the back, upper back, lower back, sides and spine; backs of legs, down to each foot before moving to the next leg; shoulders, front and back, neck and scalp; face, forehead to chin; arms and hands one after the other moving down from the top of the arm to the palms, finishing with a wrist and hand massage.

You will then turn over and the front of your body will be massaged beginning with the ribcage and sides of the body; abdominal massage starting from the belly up to the neck; front of the legs, one leg at a time from the bottom to the top then back to the front of each foot in turn.

A good full body massage will not only relax you and eliminate body aches and pains, but will also help your body to release toxins.

Massage has come to be associated with luxurious pampering at spas, or gifted treats from loved ones. The larger part of therapeutic massage however, focuses on muscle pain relief, tension and stress reduction, and improved range of motion.

In keeping with many holistic practices, massage therapy is a whole-body approach to health and wellness that encompasses mind and body.

Athletes and injury victims in particular can benefit from the effects of massage over the long term, and receive highly relaxing tension reduction to the muscle tissue in the short run. Muscle spasms from excessive workouts can slow down blood circulation. Getting a regular massage can help increase the circulation while reducing the pain and inflammation associated with these spasms and reduced blood flow.

Massage is a well known and effective way to eliminate and reduce toxins in the body by moving blood and water more efficiently through the muscles and tissues. Although you will feel wonderful after a single visit, remember that the full and long-lasting benefits of massage therapy are best achieved with repeated visits to your therapist.

Massage therapy has a long history spanning as far back as 5,000 years when it was used in ancient customs using touch as a healing modality. This natural practice, it was discovered, could prevent and heal injuries and illnesses while alleviating pain.

This practice was a revered form of natural healing that was rendered little more than a parlor game by various shifts in the practice and culture for long periods of time in the past.

Massage therapy is enjoying a resurgence of its former status as a well respected and highly sought after form of healing the human body and preventive medicine practice.

A regular routine of massage therapy can help eliminate toxins from the body, ease the symptoms of PMS, reduce muscle tension, relieve migraines, reduce fatigue, decrease anxiety and stress, enhance sleep, and everything from treating injuries and disease, to lessening the tensions of everyday life.

The wonderful aspects of bodywork increase with each successive visit in a layering effect that allows the body to begin to align with its own internal healing and rejuvenation.

With everything a busy chiropractor needs to attend to on a daily basis, one area where a tremendous amount of improvement can be seen is patient education. Providing visual and audio learning opportunities for patients of chiropractic care can be one of the most efficient and valuable assets any chiropractor could imagine.

On average, patients who are knowledgeable about their treatment and injuries are better able to maintain a schedule of exercise and remember instructions regarding movements to avoid, etc. Linking visuals with audio, through charts and models while explaining the anatomical functions, is a great way to explain different injuries, why pain happens, and how recovery occurs, while firmly implanting them in the minds of patients.

Also, when a patient can see the physical details of the condition or problem, they are much more likely to understand and follow through with their treatment and any related exercises necessary to their recovery. When a patient continues to experience pain, even after their chiropractic visit, your visual and auditory explanation of the reasons behind this will go a long way toward ensuring that patients return to continue treatment and move into a pain-free situation.

Finally, using models and charts enhances the quality of your patient’s relationship and office environment. Patients are better able to explain their own pain locations to you through the use of a model, and even remember additional issues related to the initial injury.

Doctors of chiropractic medicine, focus on whole body wellness and homeopathic approaches to healing. Rather than issue prescriptions for medications and pharmaceuticals, chiropractors offer patients the opportunity to heal their bodies from the inside out using supplements and spinal adjustments to realign the body’s nervous system for optimal health benefits and pain relief.

Chiropractic treatments are particularly successful at eliminating pain caused by spinal trauma from sports injuries, automobile accidents or any other kind of accident involving the spinal cord and musculature surrounding the spine.

A RI Chiropractor will perform various examinations and tests prior to administering a treatment plan with a patient. A chiropractor will perform a physical examination, including an orthopedic exam if necessary, x-rays and other laboratory tests, spinal analysis, and a detailed medical history prior to forming a diagnosis of an injury.

If you are experiencing pain associated with an sport or automobile accident, or are simply feeling back or neck pain due to an everyday overexertion or injury to your spine, a Rhode Island chiropractor will be able to give you relief from your pain.
