A six-part series of real cases of Dr. Stephen Estner, Chiropractic physician (Part 1/6)

Visit date May 17, 2023. (My actual notes) A 38-year-old female (Christina) presents with constant neck and upper back pain with headaches. She stated that in approximately 2016 she fell off an ATV and has had symptoms ever since. She states that she also hit her left elbow and feels constant numbness and tingling in that region, it worsens with flexing. She stated that she has been taking Tylenol with ibuprofen regularly to reduce her headaches. She states her headaches are occurring approximately once a week and can last about three days at a time. She was diagnosed with cluster/migraine headaches by her doctor. She states that she is unable to turn her head fully from side to side and has a pulling sensation in the upper thoracic region with head flexion.

This patient received chiropractic care including physiotherapeutic modalities on a total of six visits. She is no longer experiencing any of the symptoms listed above. Her condition was caused by misalignment of the spine from her fall that eventually led to a plethora of symptoms. Once the spine was realigned (a painless process) she had immediate increase of range of motion, less muscle tension and was able to begin exercises and stretching with no discomfort. Christina now attends to the clinic for once-a-month maintenance care and can play with her daughter, does not take Tylenol because the headaches were resolved and says, “I got my life back!”
