Stop Wasting Abandoned Property (SWAP) offers low-income alternatives and new uses for abandoned urban properties by renovating and selling or renting the existing buildings for affordable prices.
From promoting charity events around the state, to assisting legal, medical and sports related colleagues with chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage and rehabilitative services, RI Chiropractor Stephen M. Estner becomes an active member of the community in any way possible. When the opportunity arose for him to be involved directly in the SWAP organization's programs, through the rental of one of their urban properties, it was an easy decision to make.
Our office hours are from Saturday 9AM to 1PM, Monday and Wednesday 10AM to 6PM, for all of the services noted below, with massage therapy on Monday by appointment only. Call (401) 724-7246 and or fax (401) 724-7242 for an appointment. There is ample street parking and a private lot directly behind the building.

SWAP has been turning abandoned urban properties in the State of Rhode Island into affordable housing for over 33 years. Dr. Estner's new office location, one of their urban development success stories, is right around the corner from their main office.
The SWAP property and program opens a new avenue for him to offer his support for a cause that is needed in our state. In addition to offering low to moderate income housing, the non-profit seeks to make the most use of the properties scattered throughout our urban areas. These properties are not being used and are falling into ruin as a result.
SWAP currently has developments located at 201 Thurbers Avenue and at Dr. Estner's new office location of 500 Broad Street in Providence, as well as homes for sale in RI. The organization sponsors several community programs including a Home Buyer Education Program, Good Tenant Workshop, Neighborhood Contractor Mentoring Program, and several community and youth programs offering information and activities to youths and adults in the neighborhood.
The issue of affordable housing is not a new one, and many RI families have found themselves facing the prospect of homelessness in the past. Organizations that can take existing property and turn it into something that can be of use, are few and far between. When an agency like this takes on such a large task, it is more important than ever to offer as much support as possible.Find out more.
