Whiplash Injuries Respond to Chiropractic Treatments

The most common injury sustained in car accidents is whiplash injury. This injury is characterized by a violent forward and backward jerking motion that causes soft tissue injury to the cervical spine area. And although auto accidents are the most common way of incurring a whiplash injury, they are not the only way.

Whiplash can also be caused by sports injuries, or work related injuries. Any whiplash injury will respond very well to chiropractic treatment however, as the tissues involved in the injury can benefit from manipulations that help and treatments that help to reduce swelling and pain in the neck area.

The combination of massage therapy, physical therapy modalities such as cold laser, ultrasound and electrical stimulation, and chiropractic adjustment are tailor suited to bringing patient's relief of the pain associated with spinal injuries, as well as strengthening the muscles, reducing spasms, increasing range of motion and correcting veterbral alignments and subluxations.

Whiplash injuries vary in intensity and therefore require differing amounts of time for healing. A preliminary evaluation by a RI chiropractor will allow you to gain valuable insight into the nature of your injury as well as the amount of time and treatment options available for healing.

If you have sustained a whiplash injury, or other spinal injury, contact a chiropractor in RI for an appointment immediately to avoid further damage to your back and neck.
